For the past year we have been working on a project that is entirely inspired by our own personal influences. We aimed to create a piece of art that represents us personally and is not driven by sales and the pressure to constantly produce new work. The subject matter of this piece has been sitting idle in sketchbooks, waiting to be rediscovered; this includes objects which we love or have some personal attachments to. Throughout the past year, our newsletters have documented this process of rediscovery from the first pencil sketches, to acetates, followed by colour inspiration, and lastly, the set-up of screens. The final pieces of our project have now been completed, which has exceeded both our expectations. The project comprises of three pieces. The main piece is an edition of five pigment hand screen prints with a touch of painting on a 91cm X 91cm cotton canvas, stretched on a custom made frame. Also available is a large pigment digital painting, and finally a beautiful hand screen printed 90 cm X 90cm silk scarf.
